Atom, Ion, or Isotope?

It is both an ion and an isotope. An ion is a charged particle, which means that it has a different number of electrons and protons. In this case it is a positive charged ion or cation, as it is properly called, since it has more protons than electrons. An isotope means that there are a different amount of neutrons than there are in other forms of the atom and are simply different forms of the same element.
