Christians, is the New Covenant really better than the Old Covenant?

The New Covenant is the law of the Spirit of life is better than the Old Covenant which is the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2, 2 Corinthians 3:6-9). The New Covenant gives us life through faith and rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ, the Old Covenant brings death because men cannot fulfill its requirements by their own efforts weighed down by their carnal nature. If the first Covenant ie the Old Covenant has been faultless then no place would have been sought for a second ie the New Covenant which was established on better promises (Hebrews 8:6,7).
