Christmas Cactus has wrinkled dry leaves, especially at end.?

During summer, my plant had turned pale and yellow so I repotted it to a ceramic pot that had better drainage. Its color has now returned to normal but the leaves are still wilted. I have been watering regularly but I'm still not sure if the plant is suffering from too much water or too little. I'm also wondering whether I should just cut the plant back. The plant sits on a window with indirect light, northern exposure. Help -- I've had this plant since 1988 and I've had very good luck with it until this summer.
