Odd/creepy 90s or 80s cartoon?

It was this very strange cartoon, the only scene I can remember is what seemed to be two animals swapping brains, and it was a little disturbing and perhaps gory. I know it wasn't Ren and Stimpy, I think perhaps they were both cats or some other creatures.. Anyway, any clue towards it would be great!
